Home Health Aide
What Does a Home Health Aide Do?
A home health aide offers a variety of different assistance services to those with special needs. This can be the disabled, cognitively impaired, or chronically ill. A home health aide will also care for seniors who need assistance. Depending on the particular job, responsibilities of a home health aide can include helping a client with personal hygiene or checking vital signs. Home health aides may also do some shopping, light housekeeping, and arrange for transportation. They also offer companionship to the person they care for. Since home health aides provide simple medical care, they get training, and this training is completed under the direct supervision of a trained healthcare professional.
A home health aide will play a role in the continuum of care. They will track the progress and condition of clients and report any changes in their mental, emotional, or physical state. They can help make sure clients receive the treatment they need.
