April is National Humor Month and who doesn’t love a good joke? The team at Adult Alternative Home Care loves a good laugh, so we thought it might be fun to share in April’s celebration of National Humor Month with some punny jokes!

According to the originators of this celebration, National Humor Month was created as a means to bring emphasis to the therapeutic value of humor. Life without the joy of humor is almost like writing with a broken pencil—it’s pointless. (haha)

Laughter and joy – the benchmarks of humor – lead to improved well-being, boosted morale, increased communication skills, and an enriched quality of life.

Here are some fun and “punny” suggestions for our seniors to participate in this month:

● If you are in search of therapeutic activities, you can go to the beach but the ocean will most likely just wave.
● You can get into gardening and plant flowers, but that’s quite impossible if you haven’t botany.
● You can pick up a new sport like bicycling but be forewarned; it can become a vicious cycle.
● Baking can be a fun and lucrative activity! Stack that dough in time for Christmas presents!
● You can get into golfing, but bring an extra pair of pants, in case you get a hole in one.
